Sling Blade is a very well acted movie that despite it's length, it keeps you going. The characters are so well thought out, it's hard to choose who was the break out actor of the film. But Billy in his first major role, he was just amazing, he looked so calm and relaxing, but yet you didn't know what he was going.

The protagonist, Carl, is a gourmand with subtly refined palate. Whereas some may prefer to the traditional southern method of pairing biscuits with white "thickenin' gravy" Carl prefers a more adventurous approach: biscuits and mustard. Sometimes a hero comes from the most unlikely place. Sling Blade has become something of a cinematic enigma. The film is clearly best known for Karl Childers the bumbling, unintentional humorist rather than Karl Childers the gentle hearted and understanding soul, the film unfortunately remembered for one liners rather than its simplistically. Sling Blade Written, Directed, and Staring Billy Bob Thornton is so well done I cannot count how many times i've seen it.
